How day and night fit together

Charge from daytime solar

When designed and configured to do so, solar can serve the home and charge the battery during the day.

Use stored energy after solar production falls

The battery can reduce grid imports during the evening, including PG&E's 4-9 pm peak period. The result depends on production, household use, rate plan, battery size and settings.

Prepare selected essentials for an outage

Properly configured storage can support selected circuits. Actual duration depends on battery capacity, charge level, household demand and equipment design.

The right question is not “Can a battery power everything?” It is “What do you want powered, and for how long?”

Grid program reality

Availability must be checked by addressSome eligible batteries may enroll in a virtual power plant program and receive an incentive. Program availability, equipment eligibility, dispatch terms and payments vary. Installation does not guarantee enrollment or earnings.
